The Fun Fair

Friday was the annual Fairplay Fun Fair for kids ages 1-5. It was SO much fun. All free, they had everything from bouncy castles and butterfly touch gardens to Smokey the Bear and rangers from the CO department of Wildlife teaching the kids about the animals in our area. It was WONDERDFUL! All 3 kids saw their own teachers and friends there and felt so proud introducing them to one another.
Both boys braved holding a tarantula! (Josslyn was still asleep in the car with daddy but I KNOW she would have held it, too!)

Tye LOVES all critters.

Bubble girl, Joss.

Tye in the bubble!

And JJ in the bub.

FUN!

Making a tornado in the science station.

Jake tried on the Fire Captain's helmet.

And Tye, too!

They got to try on his very heavy coat, too.

Tye nearly fell over from the weight.

And they got a tour of an ambulance, arial ladder truck and brush rig.

We thanks the EMTs for all they do for us but told them that we hope to never need them at our house!

Even Smokey the Bear was there to talk to the kids about forest fire dangers.

And the CO Department of Wildlife's Mark Lamb was Fantastic and told my kids specifically how to stay safe from the animals most prevalent around our home.

They got to touch all sorts of wild animal furs.

Jake has an Elk foot in his hand! Ewwwww.

Jake made a bracelet for his sister...so sweet.

Josslyn's teacher ran the flower planting station.

Joss already plucked the petals off Jake's flower...It has flower buds already!

Tye shows Jake something "really cool" in the science center.

At the face painting station, Jake asked for a donkey, Tye a bat and Joss had a rainbow.

She's unsure of sitting on the nice lady's lap!
Not too sure of what just happened to her face.
On the way home, we got some presents in the mail from Grammy and Papa...Joss shows her new ring (She loved it, Mom!)

After we got home from the fun fair, we went on a LONG quad ride in the forest.

CORRECTION: Joss and JAKE rode with mommy.

Daddy took TYE. (Did anyone notice that I made that error?)

In the big tall trees.

Spring in the Rocky Mountains is here!

As if on cue, the day after Breckenridge closed, the weather snuck into the high 60s!
I took these phots from atop one of my favorite runs on Sunday, a warm, sunny, perfect closing day!

With the nearest open ski resort now 1hr 10 min. away and the snow melting fast, it will not be an everyday thing anymore. So today we:

Took the kids on wagon rides in Gail's tractor trailor!

The pet parade followed...Joss, Gail and I even waved like Beauty Queens!

Joss learned to steer the kids' quad very, very well!!

And she fancied up her helmet w/ girlie stickers and refused to take her walkie talkie off!

The boys braved the big hills together on their quad.

Wearing their snowboard helmets and goggles!

And when they got stuck...nothing like a little brother to put to work pushing uphill. (Typical!)

And when their quad battery ran out, they rode with daddy.

The Haddad boys made a quad track in our yard,

And ventured offroad into the forest preserve.

And returned hours later after a gentlmen's picnick in the forest.

Breck was tuckered out from all the running around chasing the quad, so Tye and Joss snuggled up with him on the floor. (Ummmm...with MY quilt, kiddos!!!)

And the boys were boys...digging in the dirt.

Daddy and Joss enjoyed some quiet time on the deck,

with this as their view. (and all those Aspens will get their leaves very soon!)

Tye looked dapper as always.

The kids hiked around trying to find the BBs we shot at the chipmunks!

And they played a little more baseball and Breck fetched them the balls.

Jake wanted to ride alone.

So Tye found random treasures (junk) in the yard (like the wire lassoe around his neck...great.)
It was another day to remember. Many, many, many more to come.
